Anzio landings commemorated at CWGC cemeteries in Italy

The Anzio landings, codenamed ' Operation Shingle' were commemorated at CWGC Anzio War Cemetery and Anzio Beach Head Cemetery on the 22 January 2024.

Among those present were the new Deputy Head of Mission of the British Embassy, David Burton OBE, The Mayor of Anzio Mr. Aurelio Lo Fazio and members of the military and civil authorities.

Giordano Righetti, CWGC External Relations Advisor C&SEA laid wreaths at both ceremonies on behalf of the CWGC. The 'Last Post' and 'Reveille' were played by student trumpeter Sara Turco Liveri of the local Liceo Musicale 'Chris Chappel' of Anzio at both ceremonies.
