How to watch the D-Day 80 Anniversary events

If you can’t make it to Normandy for the D-Day anniversary events, don’t worry – some of the key events from next week’s commemoration events will be shown on TV.

Broadcast live from our Bayeux War Cemetery in France, the BBC’s coverage of the tribute to the fallen of D-Day will readings and music before the centrepiece illumination of each of the 4,600 headstones within the cemetery. 

Hosted by Kirsty Young and special guests, the Tribute to The Fallen will be a touching moment of remembrance as we commemorate those who are buried in Bayeux and across Normandy. 

The Tribute to The Fallen forms part of our Great Vigil events, where we will be illuminating each grave at our sites in Normandy.

BBC coverage of events at the British Normandy Memorial hosted by Paddy O’Connell with our Patron, His Majesty The King, in attendance. 

Music will include performances from Johnny Flynn, Sir Tom Jones and a new commission from Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The event will conclude with a traditional act of remembrance, accompanied by a special tribute from the Red Arrows, flying over Normandy to salute this remarkable generation and our nation's heroes.
