Girvan (Doune) Cemetery - War Graves Week Tours

Girvan (Doune) Cemetery

War Graves Week is an initiative aimed at encouraging people from the local community to come together and discover the World War heritage on their doorstep – learning about the stories of those commemorated by the CWGC and the skills, dedication and expertise of those CWGC staff and volunteers who work to keep their memory alive.

MEETING POINT at cemetery main entrance.

We have been helped in the construction of this walk by Ritchie and Lorna Conaghan of the Girvan Great War Project. They will be with us on the tour and will be able to answer many questions specific to those fallen.

There are 21 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-18 war and 20 of the 1939-45 war, 2 of which are unidentified. There are also 4 Foreign National burials.
