War Graves Week is an initiative aimed at encouraging people from the local community to come together and discover the World War heritage on their doorstep – learning about the stories of those commemorated by the CWGC and the skills, dedication and expertise of those CWGC staff and volunteers who work to keep their memory alive.

MEETING POINT by the Cross of Sacrifice near the main entrance, tour guides will be clearly visible in Commonwealth War Graves Commission shirts.

During the tour, you will learn about the history of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and about the heroic actions and self-sacrifice of some of our casualties buried in the cemetery.

There is parking available on Miller Road. There are no facilities or toilets. The path is level,however some areas may be restrictive for those with mobility issues given the nature of a cemetery site there may be grass verges impassable for wheelchairs.

Families and people of all ages are certainly welcome. This is a dog-friendly event but please keep 4 legged friends on a lead.

Please come dressed for the weather and in a suitable walking shoe. Most of the tour is on pathways but may require you to walk on grass at times.

Please advise the guide at the start of the tour of any mobility restrictions.

We anticipate the tour to last around an hour nonetheless please understand this is an estimate and the tour may take longer.
