Rolls of Honour
The CWGC commemorates more than 54,000 Commonwealth war dead of WW1 & WW2 who lie buried or are commemorated at 19 locations throughout Iraq.
Whilst the current climate of political instability persists, it is extremely challenging for us to manage or maintain our cemeteries and memorials within Iraq. As a temporary solution, to ensure the names of the dead can be seen, we have created a two volume Roll of Honour listing all casualties buried and commemorated in Iraq.
These volumes are available digitally below. The digital documents are created in such a way that they can be searched. Physical versions of the Rolls are on display at the Commission's Head Office in Maidenhead and can be viewed by prior arrangement.
We continue to monitor the situation in Iraq and once the political climate has improved to an acceptable level we will commence a major rehabilitation project for the cemeteries and commemorations.
