VIRTUAL WAR MEMORIALS: VISIT OUR REMOTE SITES FROM HOME

Since the beginning of last year, visiting our war cemeteries and memorials across the globe has had to be put on hold for many. So why not take the opportunity to explore and experience some of our most remote sites across the world in a virtual war memorial tour!

Explore Kilchoan Cemetery in Scotland

Nowhere else in the UK is the challenge of access to war graves more obvious than in the Scottish Highlands and islands. Join Robert Ross as he checks on a single grave out in the far reaches of Scotland. He has to travel by boat from the mainland to get here and then must walk a couple of miles to the cemetery itself.

Join us on a whistle stop tour of Georgia and Ukraine

The closest you can ever get to visiting Tbilisi British Cemetery is by knocking on the door of a Georgian family home and being guided through to their back garden. Dive into this VR video and join Simon Fletcher as he visits a grave marker in a family’s back garden in Georgia and searches for CWGC’s hidden headstones in Ukraine.

Visit Gaza War Cemetery in the Middle East

Despite missile strikes, power cuts and make do and mend machinery – CWGC’s war cemeteries in the Gaza Strip remain carefully tended oases of calm. In this story sphere Ibrahim Jaradah will guide you around the cemetery and tell you a bit about the history of the site.

Discover our work in Ireland

The day to day maintenance in the Republic of Ireland is done on the Commission’s behalf by the Office of Public Works. So, without the need for gardening staff we have only one employee permanently based there. Join Malcolm Ross as he inspects some of the 5,500 world war graves in Ireland.
