CWGC celebrates 25 years of the In Flanders Fields Museum

On Thursday 20th July, the CWGC presented a specially engraved artwork to the In Flanders Fields Museum (IFFM) to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

The CWGC and IFFM share a common educational mission to commemorate the many war victims and tell their personal stories.

Earlier, during the weekend of May 13 and 14, the In Flanders Fields Museum (IFFM) celebrated its anniversary with an extensive program at its museum. In front of the For Evermore exhibition, which showcases various CWGC historical and artisan elements, team members told visitors about the CWGC mission and the cemeteries we maintain. Visitors could also watch the experienced stonemasons live as they chiselled the IFFM anniversary logo in Portland Stone as an honorary gift.

Last Thursday, CWGC Works Assistant Manager Lander Soens, presented the finished stone along with the five stonemasons to IFFM director Stephen Lodewyck and president Dimitry Soenen, celebrating 25 years of IFFM and honour a close relationship and collaboration with the CWGC.
