Exploring our Archives

Over the next week the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) will be revealing the fascinating stories behind some of the objects in our archive, in support of Explore Your Archive 2018.

Running until Sunday 25 November CWGC will be selecting items from the archive that help to shine a light on our work to commemorate the 1.7 million Commonwealth men and women who died in the two World Wars.

Daily themes ranging from animals and music to maritime and sport will show how the CWGC archive, along with other archives around the country, are packed full of objects that give us an insight into our collective history.

Keep an eye out on the CWGC’s social media channels all this week to see what’s in store.
