Join a weekend of virtual Remembrance talks
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the National Army Museum are bringing you a weekend of virtual talks titled ‘Remembrance in Focus: The Past, Present and Future of Commemoration’ on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November.
Each of the free online talks will be led by world-class academics and representatives from organisations across the Commemoration landscape, including Dr George Hay, Peter Francis, Mel Donnelly and Steve Arnold of the CWGC, and will explore the past, present and future of commemoration.
Learn about the ideas and decisions that led to the creation of a remembrance culture, following the end of the First World War. Discover how the dead were recovered and identified in the aftermath of the world wars and hear about the ongoing work to identify those found on the former battlefields.
There will also be discussions on the role of heritage in acts of remembrance, how commemoration has evolved since 1918 and where it is heading as we look towards the future.
The programme will take place online via Crowdcast. Follow the link below to book your place.
