Services at Bayeux Cathedral, the British Normandy Memorial and the Bayeux War Cemetery to mark the 81st anniversary of D-Day
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), Royal British Legion and the Normandy Memorial Trust are delighted to welcome people to three key events in France marking the 81st anniversary of the D-Day Landings.
Following the international events last year, the organisations have jointly announced three ceremonies which will honour those who fought during D-Day, the largest seaborne invasion in history.
Thursday 5th June
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission's Service of Thanksgiving is taking place at Bayeux Cathedral to commemorate the 81st anniversary.
This event starts at 17.00 pm (local time) and the Cathedral can be found at Rue du Bienvenu, 14400 Bayeux.
A number of seats are reserved for invited guests and the general public are welcome to take part. Capacity is limited, seats will be offered on a first come first served basis. •
Friday 6th June
Two commemorative events will take place on Friday 6th June 2025.
On Friday 6th June, from 10.30 am until 11.10 am, The Spirit of Normandy Trust is holding a Service of Remembrance with a number of Normandy veterans at the British Normandy Memorial, which can be found at 14114 Ver-sur-Mer.
A small number of seats are reserved for veterans and invited guests.
The public are invited to attend and are encouraged to register in advance using button below:
There will be very limited seating for members of the public. The Winston Churchill Centre, with two galleries and a café, will be open throughout the day.
Friday 6th June
On Friday 6th June at 12:00 pm, the CWGC and the Royal British Legion will hold a Service of Commemoration at Bayeux War Cemetery.
The address of the cemetery is: Boulevard Fabian Ware, 14400 Bayeux.
Members of the public are warmly welcomed to take part in the events. Seats are reserved for invited guests.
Any available seats will be offered on a first come first served basis. If you are unable to stand for a long period of time, please speak with a member of the CWGC onsite to assist you.
