For Evermore Workshop: From Name to Story (Canada - beginners)

The workshops Forevermore: From Name to Story are designed to help visitors uncover the personal and military history of the soldiers we commemorate.
Each session focuses on a different nationality, offering unique perspectives on the global story of the First World War. Keep an eye on our event calendar and social media channels for upcoming workshops—don’t miss your chance to turn a name into a story that lives on forever.
On 21 January we host a beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll dive deep into the life of a Canadian soldier of the First World War, uncovering who he was before the war, when and how he enlisted, the battles he fought, and the family he left behind. Included in this 2 hour-session:
- Expert guidance from our historian
- Discovery of a multitude of sources—military records, family archives, diaries, photographs
- Skills to assess credibility
- Insights into cemetery locations and memorials
- Knowledge of the CWGC Forevermore portal
This workshop starts at 19:00 until 21:00 (local time) and is limited to 8 participants to keep it interactive and personal—bring your laptop to join the research, and enjoy a hot drink with a slice of classic British cake included in your ticket!
