Rededication ceremony for Serjeant John Harold Bott DCM, 4169, Royal Fusiliers

A rededication ceremony for Serjeant John Harold Bott DCM, Royal Fusiliers, will be held at 2.15pm (local time) on 20 March 2024 at CWGC’s Hooge Crater Cemetery, Belgium.

Serjeant Bott died on 10 August 1917 and was previously commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

CWGC will mark his recently identified grave with a Commission headstone and will care for his final resting place in perpetuity.

The ceremony has been organised by the British Ministry of Defence’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre and will be attended by Defence Staff, Regimental representatives, CWGC staff and local dignitaries.
