Location information

During the 1939-1945 War 9 members of the Australian Forces were cremated in the State of South Australia. They are commemorated by a memorial situated in Centennial Park Cemetery at Adelaide erected near the Cross of Sacrifice within the War Graves Plot. The names are inscribed on a bronze panel beneath an inscription which reads:- 1939-1945 THE SERVICEMEN WHO ARE HONOURED HERE DIED IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA. THEIR REMAINS WERE CREMATED AND THE ASHES SCATTERED OR BURIED WHERE FULL COMMEMORATION COULD NOT BE GIVEN.
