Location information
Thunder Bay (formerly Port Arthur) is a city and port on the north-western coast of Lake Superior. During the 1939-1945 War a prisoner of war camp was set up nearby. This cemetery, which is privately owned, lies at the city limits, 4 kilometres west of the Canadian National Railway station, Thunder Bay. It contains war graves of both world wars.
History information
There are 18 burials of the First World War. With the opening of the prisoner of war camp a German P.O.W. Plot was started in the cemetery, and was used for burials from the camp throughout the war years. The total number of 1939-1945 War burials is 23.
