Location information

Kirkinner is a village on Wigtown bay, 2 miles south of Wigtown. Turn left from the centre of the village when travelling in a southerly direction on the A764 on to the minor road which goes to Knockann. The cemetery is on the left side of this road, on the edge of Kirkinner village.

History information

A plot in the south-western part of the burial ground was acquired by the Royal Air Force, which had a station at Wigtown during the 1939-1945 War. The 24 war burials comprise 1 man of the Royal Navy; 12 men of the Royal Air Force, one of whom is not identified, 8 members of the Royal Canadian Air Force and 3 members of the Royal Australian Air Force.
