Location information
From downtown Halifax, access by car North Street. Turn north onto Connaught Avenue and follow Connaught Avenue northwest towards Kempt Road. The Halifax Fairview Lawn Cemetery is located on the south-west side of the Kempt Road and Connaught Avenue junction.
Visiting information
The cemetery grounds are open daily for visitation from sunrise to sunset. The on site cemetery office is open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
History information
Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is the Headquarters of No. 6 Military District, which, during the War, had nine Military Hospitals, with 1,480 beds.
There are now 26, 1914-1918 Commonwealth war casualties and a small number of 1939-1945 Commonwealth war casualties commemorated in this site.
