Location information
The Crematorium is located within the Croydon (Mitcham Road) Cemetery. The names of 59 casualties of the Second World War are commemorated individually on a memorial of Portland stone which faces the Garden of Rest. This is built into a dwarf wall between two entrances at the south-western end of the columbarium, and the site was generously given by the crematorium authorities. In addition, in 2015, a memorial commemorating 18 casualties of the First World War who died and were originally buried at Cane Hill Hospital, but later cremated when this site was redeveloped, was erected next to the war graves plot in the cemetery.
