SEVEROMORSK (VAENGA) CEMETERY - CWGC

Location information

This cemetery is east of the dock area, on a hill facing Severomorsk. It is situated within the naval base, approximately 500m from the Russian Northern Fleet HQ. The CWGC plot is situated to the right of the path as you enter, approximately 75m from the entrance.

Visiting information

Severomorsk is a highly sensitive military area approximately 25km north-east of Murmansk. Visitors are required to give at least two months notice to enter the region and should obtain special permission from the General Staff, via the British Embassy in Moscow.

History information

Severomorsk (Vaenga) Cemetery contains the graves of six Commonwealth airmen of the Second World War.
