Location information
Göttingen is a town in central Germany approx 46km north east of Kassel. From the A7 Kassel to Hannover motorway take exit 73 (Ausfahrt 73) GÖTTINGEN / ROSDORF / DRANSFELD and follow B3 direction GÖTTINGEN. Continue along KASSELER LANDSTRAßE for approx 2.5km, and turn right onto AN DER GERICHTSLINDE. The cemetery side entrance can be found round the corner on the right CWGC grave is located centrally on the right of the main path. History information
The majority of First World War Commonwealth war graves in Germany were moved into four permanent cemeteries after the war. However, a few graves could not be moved on religious grounds or for other reasons and they remain in their original locations in German military and civil cemeteries.
