Location information
Vendegies-au-Bois is a small village in the Nord region of France. It is situated east of Cambrai, just off the D932 road between Bavay and Le Cateau. From the D932, take the D86 at Croix-Caluyau, due north. This road will lead you into the village. Once you have entered the village, continue to follow the D86 (Rue du Cateau) until you get to a left hand turn signposted Solesmes. Vendegies-au-Bois Churchyard surrounds the church along this road (the D286 Rue d'Ovillers). The war graves are in a row behind the church.
History information
Vendegies-au-Bois was captured by British troops on the 23rd October 1918. The churchyard contains a row of nine United Kingdom graves, dating from October and early November 1918.
