History information
Hythe, 68 miles south-east of London and three miles west of Folkestone, is on the south coast of Kent, and is one of the old Cinque Ports which existed before the Roman Conquest. It is now a market town, watering place, coast guard and life boat station. The cemetery is east of the town, near Seabrook, and it belongs to Hythe Borough Council. It contains 8 Commonwealth burials of the 1914-18 war and 4 of the 1939-45 war. 1 of the 1939-45 burials is an unidentified seaman of the Merchant Navy.
