Location information

Ipoh is the capital city of the state of Perak, lying 135 miles due north of Kuala Lumpur. The cemetery lies in a military camp, formerly known as Suvla Lines, about 3 miles south east of the Ipoh - Tanjong Rambutan Road. The camp is now a very large installation, straddling both sides of the road and is home to various military units, each of which has their own entrance and guard house. The cemetery, now known as The Gurkha Cemetery, Ipoh, is on the right hand side of the road when travelling in the direction of Tanjong Rambutan and is within an open area containing an assualt training course. Directions and permission to enter the camp should be obtained from one of the guard houses.

History information

There are 100 Non World War service and dependant burials here, 10 being unidentified dependants of Gurkha soldiers.
