History information
GILLINGHAM (GRANGE ROAD) CEMETERY was transformed into a Garden of Rest in 1973 by Medway Council and all headstones marking the war graves were removed. From 1975 to 2024 the following casualties were alternatively commemorated at GILLINGHAM (WOODLANDS) CEMETERY. As of October 2024, the Special Memorials commemorating these casualties have been returned to GILLINGHAM (GRANGE ROAD) CEMETERY.
