Location information
Malo-les-Bains is a small town 3 kilometres east of Dunkirk. The cemetery is 275 metres east of the Town Hall approached via Rue General Hoche and Rue Pasteur. The Second World War casualties are buried in the north eastern corner of the cemetery and the First World War casualties are buried in the south-western part of the cemetery.

ARRIVAL
The route to the cemetery is signposted within the communal cemetery.
There is a pedestrian crossing close to the main entrance of the cemetery.
PARKING
A public car park with up to 40 parking bays is close to the main entrance of the cemetery. There is a pedestrian crossing for visitors to use to access the main entrance from the parking area.
The public car park has 2 marked accessible parking bays. (indicated with a signpost).
Additional parking is available along the side of the main road which follows the perimeter of the cemetery.
The majority of parking spaces are within 10 metres of the most accessible entrance.
ACCESS LAYOUT AND MAIN ENTRANCE
The main entrance is marked by a large wall with an arced alcove; in the centre is the main gate between two columns.
The gate is three metres wide, and over two metres tall (opens inwards). The Gates are open during the working day.
On either side of the main gate are one-metre-wide doorways, each with a wooden door that opens into the cemetery.
Gates and doorway openings are flush with the ground level.
Inside the cemetery, the ground is flat and firm. The surfaces are mixed, and either brick, or loose gravel.
There is a plot of Commonwealth War Graves and French War Graves from the First World War immediately to the right of the entrance, in the southwest corner of the cemetery.
A Second World War plot is located in the northeast corner of the cemetery, approximately 175 metres from the cemetery entrance. A Cross of Sacrifice is located opposite the plot on the other side of a pathway. Both plots and the Cross are bound by gravel pathways and low level raised stone kerbs.
ALTERNATIVE ACCESS
There are no alternative entrances or access into the cemetery.

History information
The Communal Cemetery was used in the autumn of 1917 by units of the XV Corps and to a small extent before and after that time.
There are now over 30, 1914-18 and nearly 100, 1939-45 war casualties commemorated in this site. Of these, over 30 from the 1939-45 War are unidentified.
