SELBY-LOWNDES W - [PM] - NO CHANGE SINCE 22/09/2021 REPORT - [AC] Damage to the base of the cross which isn't firmly fixed (again, while unlikely, if the cross falls then there is a chance that the plaque with the casualty's details may be impacted). CWGC record shows primary regiment as Royal Armoured Corps with 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars a unit. http://www.thepeerage.com/p64820.htm suggests he served in the 19th Lancers in WW1 and was in the 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars, Royal Armoured Corps when he died in WW2. The plaque attached to the base of his grave marker shows "19th Hussars". Again assume that as this is a PM this is all acceptable but mentioning just in case.

SELBY-LOWNDES W - [PM] - [AC] As previously reported, there is damage to the base of the cross which isn't firmly fixed (again, while unlikely, if the cross falls then there is a chance that the plaque with the casualty's details may be impacted). This grave marker is in a family plot in one corner of the churchyard hidden by tall hedging so wouldn't automatically be seen, and the forward lean continues to seem more extreme with each visit. I have contacted one of the churchwardens who has said that arrangements are being made for a repair.

SELBY-LOWNDES W - [PM] - [AC] Major change since last report 19/08/2024. Then, the hedgerow surrounding the private family plot was causing access problems and was down to be severely cut back allowing maintenance work to continue within. This has now happened and (a) the cross is back in line with the grave and (b) the surrounding vegetation has been worked on. Minor weeding and a small amount of grass trimmed. Can be taken off the 'monitor list'.
