T/249376 DRIVER G.COLBY ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS Date Of Death: 23rd August 1944. Age: 33. A lawn grave. The headstone is clean, legible & stable. It is in excellent condition, with no signs of damage or weathering. The grave is flat with no signs of dinkage. *As per a group of other graves in this area of Chiseldon cemetery, to call it a lawn grave, is a misnomer. It is located under a tree canopy, where grass struggles to gain a hold. A mud grave would be more accurate. Plant a low, ground hugging evergreen perennials, to give some cover and stop mud splashback?
