- Additional Info Cross of St. George 3rd Class (Russia). Son of Henry and Margaret Wellings, of Station Rd., Four Ashes, near Wolverhampton. Formerly a trooper in the "Carabiniers", he was granted a commission for his bravery in the battle of Messines, Oct.-Nov., 1914. Native of Shrewsbury.
