Rededication ceremony for Marine Geoffrey Albert Johnson, Royal Marines

Rededication ceremony for Marine Geoffrey Albert Johnson, PLY/X 109071, Royal Marines, will be held at 2.00pm (local time) on 31 October 2023 at Geldermalsen General Cemetery, Netherlands.

Marine Johnson died on 23 April 1945 and was previously commemorated on the CWGC Plymouth Naval Memorial.

CWGC has marked his recently identified grave with a Commission headstone, bearing his name and a personal inscription chosen by his family. We will care for his final resting place in perpetuity.

The ceremony has been organised by the British Ministry of Defence’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre and will be attended by Marine Johnson’s family, Defence Staff, Regimental representatives, CWGC staff and local dignitaries.
