Location information

Brakpan is an important mining and engineering town 37 kilometres east of Johannesburg. From the centre of town follow Prince George Avenue in the direction of Springs. The large cemetery is on the left 1.2 kilometres from the junction with Olympic Road (M46). Located within the cemetery, to the left of the main entrance, is Brakpan Crematorium. During the 1939-1945 War 5 South African soldiers were cremated here and their names are engraved on a bronze panel affixed to the Wall of Remembrance in the Crematorium.
