Location information

Barrackpore is situated 50 kilometres from Bhowanipore, and is about 26 kilometres from Kolkata using the Barrackpore Trunk Road. There are local trains available from Sealdah Station in Kolkata to Barrackpore Station. 1.5 kilometres after passing Barrackpore Railway Station, turn left on a road past Barrackpore Lower Court and passing through the Military Camp area. The cemetery will be found at the end of the road on the right hand side.

Visiting information

All of the First World War graves are located in Plot 4 which is at the right hand far end of the cemetery. The one Second World War grave is in Plot 7.

History information

There were originally 113 war graves of the Second World War scattered throughout this burial ground, but their permanent maintenance could not be assured. All save one were therefore transfered to Ranchi War Cemetery. The one remaining Second World War grave is privately maintained. There are also 21 burials from the First World War.
