Location information
Greta, on the New England Highway, is 139 miles by road and 130 miles by rail from Sydney. It is on the Sydney-Brisbane Railway. During the war it was an Army training centre, and ground in the General Cemetery was reserved by the military authorities for service war graves. The cemetery is on the corner of Hunter and Evans Streets, a mile-and-a-half from the railway station. It contains the graves of 20 men of the Australian Army.
