Location information
The small village of Gembes, in the province of Luxembourg, is situated 25 kilometres east of Beauraing, 10 kilometres east of the Dinant-Beauraing- Bouillon road. The churchyard partly surrounds the church which stands in the centre of the Gembes. The war grave is in the far left corner from the entrance with the Commission sign.
History information
The British Expeditionary Force was involved in the later stages of the defence of Belgium following the German invasion in May 1940, and suffered many casualties in covering the withdrawal to Dunkirk. Gembes Churchyard contains the grave of one airman of the Second World War.
