Location information

Asmara Civil Cemetery is situated on high ground overlooking the town on its south-western edge. The route from the British Consulate is uphill along Avenue Menelik II. Take the third turning on the right and at the end of it (past the Haile Selassie I Secondary School) bear right again to the main gate of the cemetery.

Visiting information

Asmara Civil Cemetery is open at all times. Wheelchair access is possible via the main entrance.

History information

This civil cemetery contains one Commonwealth burial of the Second World War. The Commission is also responsible for the care of 19 non-war service graves within the cemetery.
