Location information

Lorgies is a village and commune 30 kilometres north of Arras and 4 kilometres north of La Bassee, a small town on the N.41 road from Bethune to Lille. The nearest railway station is at La Bassee, where taxis are available. The village consists of two distinct groups of houses about half a mile apart known respectively as Lorgies (Chef Lieu) and Lorgies (Bourg), the Chef Lieu being north of the Bourg. The communal cemetery is about 200 yards south of the church, which is at Lorgies (Chef Lieu) on the D.168 road to Lorgies (Bourg). Near the chapel in the eastern corner of the cemetery are the graves of four soldiers from the United Kingdom, only one of whom is identified.
