Location information

Opende, a village administered by Grootegast 7 kilometres to the north-east, is 32 kilometres west-south-west of Groningen and 8 kilometres north-west of the secondary road from that town to Heerenveen. The churchyard is in the centre of the village. In the south-western part is a pelouse d 'honneur created by the local authorities in which are the graves of 7 airmen. One of them came from the United Kingdom and the others from Australia.
