Durban (Stellawood) Cemetery is currently closed to members of the public until end of May 2021 whilst we undertake essential repairs to the site. The works will aim to stabilise ground and repair drainage infrastructure after recent land slips

Location information
The Durban (Stellawood) Cremation Memorial is in Durban (Stellawood) Cemetery. This municipal cemetery is the largest in Durban, and is situated at the top of Stellawood Road which interesects Umbilo Road. The Memorial, consisting of a granite panel inscribed with the names of 33 casualties who have no known grave, is set into a wall flanked at each end by a square shelter with domed roof. The Memorial is located behind the Stone of Remembrance, which is in the centre of the middle terrace of the War Graves Plot in the cemetery.
Visiting information
The cemetery is open 7 days a week from 0700 to 1700. It is recommended that visitors consult the Secretary of the Commission's South African Agency as it can be difficult to locate the memorial and graves, especially the scattered ones.
