The crematorium is in Barlow Moor Road, West Didsbury, on the southern side of the city. It adjoins Manchester (Southern) Cemetery.

The 14 casualties of the 1914-1918 War cremated here are commemorated on a memorial stone near the entrance to the grounds. The 177 casualties of the 1939-1945 War are commemorated on the memorial screen wall which stands in the 1939-1945 War Graves Plot, in nearby Manchester (Southern) Cemetery.
