Location information

Cape Barren Island is in Bass Strait, off the north-eastern corner of Tasmania. It lies some 18 miles south of Flinders Island, which is connected by air and by cargo vessel with both Tasmania and the mainland of Australia; but Cape Barren Island can only be reached by the mail boat from Lady Barron on Flinders Island, which plies on Tuesdays and Saturdays, weather permitting. The cemetery is about three-quarters of a mile from the small township of Cape Barren.
