History information
Whitehorse, capital of the Territory, is on the Alaska Highway about 80 kilometres north of the British Columbia border. It was the most northerly post occupied by the Canadian Army on a long-term basis during the 1939-1945 War. The aerodrome was an important link on the North-West Staging Route. The cemetery contains the 1939-1945 War grave of an airman of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
