Location information
St. Genesius-Rode is a village situated 14 kilometres south of Brussels. It lies 4 kilometres west of the Brussels-Charleroi road. The cemetery is on the south-eastern side of the village, at the corner of the Bosstraat and the Fornteinstraat. The one British grave is in the Belgian Pelouse D'Honneur in the south-eastern part of the cemetery.
History information
The British Expeditionary Force was involved in the later stages of the defence of Belgium following the German invasion in May 1940, and suffered many casualties in covering the withdrawal to Dunkirk. St. Genesius-Rode Communal Cemetery contains one Commonwealth burial of the Second World War.
