Location information

Wood Cemetery is in the village of Marcelcave, 24 kilometres east of Amiens in the Department of the Somme. From Amiens take the Road Nationale N29 to Villers Bretonneux. Turn onto the D23 in the direction of Demuin. Take the first road to the left (Road Departmentale) D136 to reach the village of Marcelcave. The Cemetery is south-east of Marcelcave on a dead end road. The register is available in the Mairie from Monday to Tuesday from 16.00 to 18.00 Wednesday from 10.00 to 12.00 Thursday from 18.00 to 19.00 Friday from 10.00 to 12.00

History information

Marcelcave was captured by the Canadian Corps on 8 August 1918. Wood Cemetery was made by the Canadian Corps later that month. The cemetery contains 50 First World War burials, three of which are unidentified.
