Location information

Evans Head lies on the coast, just east of the Pacific Highway, 538 miles by road northeast of Sydney. The aerodrome was a Royal Australian Air Force Station during the war, from which aircraft carried out the reconnaissance and patrol duties necessary for the protection of shipping. The General Cemetery is a mile north-west of the post office, near the aerodrome. Also within this cemetery is the War Cemetery.
