Location information
Vittener Cemetery will be found on the northern outskirts of the town of Klaipeda in the Republic of Lithuania. It is now a park containing a small cemetery memorial plot.
History information
Klaipeda (formerly Memel), was a Prussian town until it was annexed by Lithuania in January 1923. The cemetery contains one Commonwealth grave and a special memorial to a British soldier who died as a prisoner of war and who was buried in SZAWLI (Schaulen) GERMAN CEMETERY, but whose grave could not be found.
