Location information

Nyeri Civil Cemetery is also known as the Baden Powell Cemetery. It is very near the centre of Nyeri. The Cemetery is approximately 1 kilometre from the Outspan Hotel and is on the minor road which passes through Nyeri en route to Nyeri War Cemetery.

Visiting information

Nyeri Civil Cemetery is open every day between 06:00 and 18:00. The Scouts Association make a charge for visits to the grave of Lord Baden Powell which is located within this cemetery. They have assured the Commission however, that people wishing only to visit the 'non-world war' graves in the cemetery will not be charged. Please therefore make your intentions known at the visitors centre at the cemetery entrance if asked.

Wheelchair access to this cemetery is possible via main entrance.

History information

This site contains agency maintained non-war graves, plus the graves of Lord Baden Powell and his wife. There are no Commonwealth war graves.
