Location information
Funchal British Cemetery is near the south coast of the island, approximately 804 kilometres west of Lisbon. The cemetery is located in the historic centre of Funchal city, near the Dolce Vita shopping centre and the civil court. The main gate at the cemetery entrance on the Rua Dr. Brito da Câmara is always kept closed so enter via the Rua da Carreira, 235, called the 'Small Gate'. You should follow the right hand path past the church and potting sheds to the main cemetery. One war grave can be found on the left, just after entering the main cemetery plot. The five remaining war graves are located on the right hand side of the path, leading to the main gate.Cemetery address is Rua da Carreira 244-280, 9000 -037, Funchal.

History information
Funchal British Cemetery contains three Commonwealth burials of the First World War and three from the Second World War, all seamen of the Royal or Merchant navies. There is also one non-war burial in the cemetery.
