History information
In the years after the Second World War, the remote location of this burial site made it unmaintainable as a formal cemetery. The graves remained undisturbed at the request of the relatives of the crew members, with their official commemoration taking the form of a plaque placed nearby at Haut Nistos Communal Cemetery, Haute-Pyrenees. The land was later acquired by the French State and granted to the Commission under the War Graves Agreement. In 2024, the Commission were able to renovate the cemetery and mark the seven graves with Commission headstones.
