- The ground is very uneven and there are a lot of broken/fallen civilian grave markers in this site.
Location information
Zomba Town Cemetery is located in the very centre of Zomba. The Cemetery is on the right side of the main road when travelling north from the direction of Blantyre. The entrance to this communal cemetery is a traditionally built lychgate. The Historical Notice is fixed to the right side of the lychgate and the Commonwealth commitment (which includes war graves marked with private memorials) is spread around the front (roadside) section of this extended cemetery.
Visiting information
Zomba Town Cemetery is open every day between 06:00 and 18:00.
History information
The cemetery, on the road to Blantyre, belongs to the Zomba Town Council. There are 54, 1914-1918 and 4, 1939-1945 Commonwealth war casualties commemorated in this site. There are also 2 non world war and 1 German burials here.
