Historical Cases of Non-Commemoration - Progress Report No.9

The CWGC’s Non Commemoration Programme continues to make significant progress in addressing issues of unequal treatment for African and Indian soldiers and porters following the First World War and our latest progress report summaries the achievements of the past three months, as we continue this important work.

There is more to be done – not least on education programmes to build dialogue and engage young people in this history. The image above is a drawing from our first co-created animated sequence, made through a collaboration between young people in London and design students at the Technical University of Kenya in Nairobi, and launched in November as part of wider education resources to illustrate the global nature of commemoration. With the support of our partners and communities we will honour all those who died and were not remembered at the time.
