Summer 2026 at the Menin Gate and Ieper Visitor Centre

With the holiday season fast approaching, if you're planning a trip to Belgium and Ieper in the coming months, then the CWGC has something happening for everyone at the Menin Gate.
This summer we are introducing a programme of guided tours led by CWGC historians. These experiences are designed to offer visitors a new perspective, to look beyond the surface and discover the details often missed at first glance. From the design of Sir Reginald Blomfield’s iconic Menin Gate to the personal stories behind the names, each tour invites visitors to connect more closely with the memorial—and with the individuals it commemorates. Tours take place throughout July and August on most Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 and 4 pm. All our tours start at the Menin Gate Visitor Centre.

For those wishing to experience a deep dive into history, we have prepared special talks on 'The story of 15 year old Valentine Strudwick' and 'The Battle of Passchendaele told through the eyes of the soldiers' at the Menin Gate Café beside the Memorial, which is also a great place to stop off for a cup of Yorkshire Tea and cakes while visiting the Memorial.
