D-Day 82 Service of Commemoration
D-Day 82 Service of Commemoration - Saturday 6 June 2026 at 1pm (local time).
On Saturday 6th June at 1pm, the CWGC and the Royal British Legion will hold a Service of Commemoration at CWGC Bayeux War Cemetery to mark the 82nd Anniversary of D-Day. The address of the cemetery is: Boulevard Fabian Ware, 14400 Bayeux.
Members of the public are warmly welcomed to take part in this event. Seats are reserved for invited guests. Any available seats will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.
If you are unable to stand for a long period of time, please speak with a member of the CWGC on site to assist you.
Please note: Important restoration works are currently being carried out on the Bayeux Memorial to the Missing adjacent to Bayeux Cemetery. These works are essential in safeguarding the future of the memorial and will protect it for decades to come.
These works form part of a long term, carefully planned programme designed to ensure that we can continue to honour the nearly 1,800 service personnel commemorated here with dignity.
We have ensured the names of those on the Memorial remain available through the Registers on site, as we know how much this visit can mean for returning veterans and families.
The work is expected to be completed by August 2026.
